Cedar Fair Mobile App
Cedar Fair, a leading amusement park operator, entrusted us with redesigning and rebuilding their mobile app. We launched a pilot version for Carowinds in late 2023, and have since expanded this new app experience to all 12 of their parks across North America and Canada.
Problem
Our team reviewed app analytics, ran a competitive analysis, held stakeholder and in-person interviews, conducted usability testing, user surveys and focus groups and were able to really pinpoint the problems we needed to solve with design. The key pain points were that it was hard to find specific dining information, simple tasks were taking longer to complete than expected, map & navigation were confusing and not always intuitive, there was no ability to update payment methods and the app had long load times.
Solution
Streamline processes to enhance the in-park experience by: including more information about dining options - dining plan coverage, full menus, restaurant hours, dietary restrictions; creating a comprehensive wallet experience to easily access and use tickets, extras & payment methods; and lastly, reduce friction with wayfinding.
